Santorini was the place ,my wife wanted to visit from decades ago and I did not want to visit only that. So, we included its neighboring country in our itinerary. It made sense, it was intuitive,  it hit up some incredible sites of interest, and it was totally worthwhile. When I look back, I think I made a good call. It has a bit of everything. We backpacked from April 10,2017 to April 23,2017 Once the place was decided, I got the ball rolling. Contacted my best friend Google, wrote to quite a few travel bloggers and made flight bookings through skyscanner. Best site I would say for the flight booking. Got really good deals. We flew in to Istanbul,Turkey and flew out from Athens, Greece Enjoy reading over a steaming hot cuppa :) Turkey Istanbul We started our adventure in the pulse of modern day Turkey, Istanbul. It is brimming with life and there are no shortages of exciting things to do and see! Home to scrumptious food, breathtaking architecture, and legendary tales

Often referred to as cradle of western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, Athens, one of the World's oldest cities with its recorded history spanning over 3,400 years, and its earliest human presence starting somewhere between the 11th and 7th millennia BC was a center for the arts, learning and philosophy and home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum. We reached Athens midnight and reached our Airbnb accommodation by 3 AM. We slept till 10 and walked towards M onastiraki market  as it had many Indian restaurants. We had brunch at Indian Masala and left to Acropolis. We were wandering aimlessly till we got the glimpse of the Acropolis. We reached the entrance and bought 5 day multiple sight entrance ticket. We started our tour and visited the places in the following order, Acropolis - The symbol of Athens, linking the old with the new. It was once used as a gunpowder store.  Propylaea - Monumental Gateway The Parthenon - Former temple dedicated

Santorini Sightseeing

I was told, Sush had been wanting to visit this Island for standard seven and her dream destination it was. Like I mentioned, earlier, Santorini was the main place we had zeroed on with other places added on later. There is a reason why the Greek island of Santorini is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It was pure magic. There are very few places in the world where one can stand on a cliff, amidst some of the most stunning and charming architecture in the world, and be even more amazed at the turquoise waters swirling below. Santorini, for all intents and purposes, is the stuff tourist dreams are made of. We arrived into the Airport at 11am, and were picked by the Hotel Airport transfer. It was more than a week since we had Indian food in Indian restaurant. Not in our wild dreams, we had imagined we would find an Indian restaurant in Santorini. The Jaipur Indian restaurant was reachable on foot from our hotel and we went there after fresh up. The
