After visiting the Florence, the next day we headed to the Vatican City, the smallest nation in the world. It is headed by his holiness the Pope and is the administrative and spiritual capital of Roman Catholicism. It boasts a priceless art collection and is probably per square foot the richest country in the world! The most famous square of Vatican City is St. Peter's Square with St. Peter's Basilica, the spiritual centre of Christendom.

Visiting the Temple Town and its Surrounding Temples

If you throw a stone, chances are that it might hit a temple. This town is known for its temples and mathas. There are around 188 Hindu temples within the municipal limits of this town. Apart from these, there are several thousand temples around the town thereby giving the town the sobriquets "Temple Town" and "City of temples" A.K.A Kumbakonam. Its also acquired the name "Cambridge of South India" due to its prominent center of European education and Hindu culture. People visit here majorly for the Navagraha temples spread across. We added some more temples to the list and in total visited 18 temples in 2 days. Our Junior is interested in Mythology and he considers Lord Hanuman as his superhero. There goes no day where he does not watch The Legend of Hanuman web series. Thank you HotStar! you are our saviour. So what better way to make him visit the places where his superhero was a household name . Namaste Lanka! These words still echoes from the series. Once place was decided, I had sorted out all my plans with the help of Hiruni from A4Tours , Colombo. I should thank her for all her inputs and suggestions in helping me make my decisions. I had Kandy, Sigiriya, Galle, Hikkaduwa, Yala, Dambulla, Trincomalee and Nuwara Eliya to decide from. I never considered going North of Sri Lanka (Jaffna) due to two reasons.
