Bhutan Package Tour

Many are of the opinion that its always nice to travel on our own and not go through any agent as it hinders opportunity to go at our will and pace. Completely agree. But in Bhutan, it isn't worth the effort. And you will be left clueless at many places. Just go through a travel agent of Bhutan and not Indian agent.

I keep pressing the fact that its best to travel with a Bhutan agent as we were the eyewitness on how Indian agents execute the tour and for the following reasons,

a)Bhutan travel agency is recognized by the Bhutan Government and only 40 such agents exist
b)The package is inclusive of travel, food, stay and places of interest
c)The stay options are at minimum 3* as per the Bhutan standards and is regulated by Government
d)Its a rule that a guide accompany us always and so you get more information about the places
e)The travel in vehicle depends on the number of the people and they are strict about the same. For two of us, we got Ford Ecosport and even if one extra passenger, they would have got us Hiace or similar which is a 6 seater vehicle.
f)The drivers are guides too. So they know the terrain well. Gedu is one such place en-route to Thimphu from Phuentsholing  where visibility was limited to 10 meters
g)They take care of us well and you get to experience as a local.
h)There are chances of visiting off-beat places if there is free time.

If traveled through Indian agents, many or most of the above mentioned may not be fulfilled.
