Visiting the Truly Asia Country
Malaysia was the last country in our South East Asia trip after visiting Thailand and Singapore. We left Singapore in Bus and at the border there was immigration procedure. We had to take out all our luggage from the bus. A bridge separates the Singapore and Malaysia. En-route there was a pit stop and we bought cut fruits.
We reached capital city, Kuala Lumpur by noon, had lunch and proceeded towards Genting Highlands. We drove till the Cable car starting point and then took Cable Car to the Genting Higlands resort. Its a hill resort and is reachable by both in Car and Cable Car. There are 4 major hotels If I am not wrong and the one we were housed had more than 5000 rooms. We checked in to First World Hotel. Rest of the day was free for us to explore the resort.
The resort has Casions, Shopping Complex, Indoor Amusement park, Outdoor amusement park. Everything looked artificial and they have splurged money. We went to the dining place and was astonished looking at the size of the complex. Huge quantities of food , much like temple kitchen was arranged and was both amazed and disappointed. The food was wasted, big time. There was lot of wastage. Hope they do something about it. We hopped from one building to other, either window shopping or just experiencing the mad crowd in the glitzy atmosphere.
Like I mentioned, there was outdoor amusement park, which had roller coaster, drop zone, toy train and others. It was very misty and so some of the rides were cancelled. The drop zone ride was open and it was fun to do in the misty weather. You go up the and nothing is visible down. Great adrenalise rush. Elders in the group settled for toy trains. We left resort in the noon and visited Batu caves which has Lord Murugan statue which is a known place in the city. We checked in to Hotel Ancasa. Rest of the day was free to roam around . There was a market opposite to the hotel and we did some shopping there.
Next day we started with city tour visiting, National Mosque , Sultan Abdul Samad Building - Beautiful, Iconic Most photographed Building, Merdeka Square - One of the most interesting & Keynote Sports in the city. National Monument, Railway Station, Railway Administrations building, Photo stop at The Petronas Towers - an impressive icon of Kuala Lumpur. Some dress restrictions at National mosque and we had wear gown to go near the door of the Mosque. Next we went to chocolate factory which they claimed is 100% veg chocolates with no animal fat. Evening we just roamed around the hotel.
The Malaysia airport is far from the city and we left early to the airport. We flew in Srilanka Airlines and reached Bangalore in the night.
