Rockies Day 1
We left Vancouver early and saw Frazer river which is the famous the Salmon run. Its interesting to know about Salmon run. I reached Hope town which was famous during gold rush period. People came here with the HOPE of getting rich. So the name. It was also the shooting location for Rambo-First Blood.
From there, we took the scenic Coquihalla Highway which was telecasted in Highway thru Hell series. We reached a cute town Kamloops for lunch. There was Aberdeen mall there and had in the food court there.
Next we visited BC National Park which is like a rehabilitation center for injured animals. We could see arctic wolves, coyotes, cougars, elk, bison, birds of prey. There was also a 30 minute session on how they save the animals and how man-animal conflict is affecting them.
We then went to Monte Creek Winery for the obvious. The location was spectacular. Then had a pit stop to stock up food items and reached beautiful Quaaout Lodge & Spa. There was storytelling activity by the First Nations Cultural host. First Nations are the predominant indigenous peoples in Canada south of the Arctic Circle. They also taught us tradition s'mores preparation by roasting marshmallows.
