Vancouver Day 2

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a great place to explore one of Vancouver’s oldest attractions. The swaying bridge hangs a whopping 70 metres above the Capilano River below and the perfect crossing to explore the Treetops Adventure and cliff walk that you can do when inside the park. But many locals, have never been. It’s not obligatory for you to spend $50 to go either. Consider Lynn Canyon’s suspension bridge as a free alternative and it has some of the best hikes.

To reach Canyon from Downtown, take Seabus from Waterfront and 228/229 bus from there. Lynn Canyon Park is a free self-guided adventure and the main attraction is the suspension bridge. People also enjoy hiking the surrounding boardwalks and trails. All trails are well marked and depending on your fitness level, you could brisk climb up hill or just stroll leisurely. I did the following trails,

TWIN FALLS TRAIL

Twin Falls is East of the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge and can be accessed from either side of the bridge. A short walk will take you to the Twin Falls Bridge which offers a beautiful view of a waterfall and large pool below.Twin Falls is less accessible than the 30-Foot pool and not as popular among visitors.

BADEN POWELL TRAIL

After Suspension bridge, this trail is popular . It crosses the entire North Shore region and passes through Lynn Canyon Park. It has both flat walk and rugged up hill.

I spent more than half a day here and then came to downtown. Then I walked to Gastown which is Vancouver’s “old” town which is a good place to go for dinner and drinks. Its  vibrant and historical center. There is a clock which runs on steam. Then  I walked towards China Town and it was just a pass through . I went to Costco later and did some shopping. I walked to hostel , dumped luggage and again went out in search of good restaurants. Had burger at johnny rockets and called it a day.
